Time Traveler's Wife...

I am never up to date on what's new and coming soon when it comes to movies. Books, however...Always :D! I just discovered this morning over at Alaine's Blog that there is a movie for The Time Traveler's Wife! That book has been on my wishlist for years, and coincidentally, I FINALLY ordered the book a few weeks ago, only to learn there is going to be a movie! I had no idea.

There is one set of movies that I follow...Harry Potter. I am such a huge Harry fan! I just love them and I am sooooo excited that the sixth one is finally almost here. I was a little disappointed when the release date was changed because of the closeness to Twilight. I'm probably one of few, but I would rather Twilight have been moved! :P

One other that I am also so freakin psyched over is The Hobbit movies!! Dude, I LOVE The Lord of The Rings! When I heard there was going to be two more, I was in heaven. Sad thing though, the first one isn't coming out until December 2011!! That seems so far away, but I know it's going to be an amazing film to add to the trilogy.

I loved the book, I didn't realize Eric Bana was playing the lead - unusual choice, hmm, not who I would have chosen for casting. I always pictured someone more average looking, who blends in to the background more easily. But, good to see the trailer, make sure you have a box of kleenex, the ending is a real tear jerker. Just watching the trailer brought it all back to me and I have tears in my eyes remembering it. The book is so crazy and out of order, it's hard to grasp it at first, but once you get used to it then it's great and original. I always wondered how on earth they'd write it into a movie. I admit it took me two tries to read it because it was hard to get into the story at first because of the jumping around. Did they change the release date of HBP? What is it now, I can't wait to see it, loved the book!

Hi Julie,
HP was originally supposed to release last November, but it was moved up to this July on the 15th. I guess they didn't want Twilight to interfere with sales and vice versa. Makes sense, but I'm really tired of waiting so long for the movies to come out! It's okay though, because they do get better and better, so they are worth the wait.

You are the second to say the ending of Time Traveler's Wife is a tear jerker. In that case, I am even more looking forward to it. And knowing that it hops around like you say before starting the book, may not make it so hard to get into.I did browse through it a little this morning and noticed that it hops from each of theirs points of view. I like when books are set up just a little different than the normal, like The Guernsey book :).

I adore the Time Traveler's Wife!! That is the only book where I completely sobbed at the ending and I never cry when I read. I hope the movie does the book a bit of justice. It has been delayed so much it makes me worried.

Looking forward to HP too!!

Hi Mandi,
Have you read Suzanne's Diary For Nicholas? Now that is a book that I lost complete control of my emotions. Even my son came into my bedroom and was a little concerned. It was crazy sad. My mom read it first and brought the book to me as soon as she finished it, still trying to hold back the tears.

You are going to love this book, but oh, so sad!! That preview practically had me in tears. I really don't know if I can see the movie! It is not technically a romance, just to warn you.

So, what you're saying is...there's no HEA?? No, no, please don't answer that! I'll be preared (I hope).

I've tried the books two times, and...it hops around so much! Perhaps I should try a third time... So many love this book, but if you say there's no HEA I'll pass!

Eva, I don't know if there is no HEA! I just guessed at that because of what Carolyn said about it not technically being a romance and everyone says how sad the ending is. I'll read it soon and then let you know if I think you should try again.

Amy C: I didn't want to give anything away, but I wanted to prepare you that it's not the traditional romance HEA. I mean, the hero can't stay in one time or place. HOWEVER, that is not to say there is no HEA. In a way, the HEA somewhat depends on the perspective of the reader. It's not a in your face an HEA as a romance, but it's not a tragedy where things end absolutely sad or bad. Yes or no on the HEA sort of depends on how you want to look a it. You have to read it! I can't wait to see what you say.

Thank you, CJ, for clarifying a little more. I don't think I'll mind not having a traditional HEA, so long as the possibility is still there.
