Another Birthday...Another Deer!

I don't know if any of you remember or not, but last year I had posted here on my blog about the deer we hit on my birthday on our way home from dinner and the bookstore. Well, believe it or not, we nearly hit another one!! In the entire year since we hit that one, we never even came close to hitting another one....Until tonight, that is!

You wanna talk about strange coincidences! That was strange indeed. It was funny, because on and off today we all had joked about how strange it would be if we should hit a deer again this year on our way home. Of course, we never thought it would ever happen. The whole way driving home we talked about it, laughing and such. Then when we passed the place we hit the deer last year, we all let out a sigh of relief. Whew, we made it, we thought! Yeah, that is until we were about a 1/4 of a mile from our house, and what do you know, we nearly took out another deer. It was like the exact same thing as last year. First dinner, then the bookstore, then home! And the time, dude, it was even right at the same time, give or take a few minutes. Crazy, crazy stuff!

And you know what the weirdest thing was, never in the ten years we have lived in our house have I seen a deer cross the road on our street! What are the odds that two years in a row our evening would turn out like that? But at least this year we didn't hit the deer. And this one was huge! Had to have been an eight point! I think the one we hit last year was a doe :(. And she did some serious damage to my Jeep, this one would have done a heck of alot worse.

So needless to say, next year we are not leaving Lockport! We will not be heading down Transit in that direction! We are going to stay right here in town for dinner and the bookstore trip will just have to be done in the afternoon :)!

I just thought I'd share that with you all. It was just one of those really strange coincidences.

Thank you all so much for the birthday wishes today to both me and Cecile! You guys are all awesome :)!

Happy Halloween!

Happy Birthday, Cecile!

Today is a special day, not only is it my birthday, but it is one of my dear friends birthday as well. And it's not just that we share the same birthday but we were literally born on the SAME day!
However, I am older :P!

Thanks for being such a tremendously great person!

May your day be the best it can be :)

I'm a Wife, a Mom, and now...

An Employee!

I am, as of yesterday, officially employed! It's been a bit difficult to get here, especially mentally. Twelve years of being a full-time homemaker has made the task an uneasy one, but I am so proud and happy to know that I will be helping out now. With my husband having lost his job and now in school for the last year, we've had to sacrifice here and there. But it's mom to the rescue! HAHA! I know, I'm a little selfish, in that I would rather continue to stay at home and do what I've been doing, but I know it's time for me to take on some more responsibilities. I've never had to earn money to help out, so it'll be very nice and rewarding. I'm pretty psyched.

So, where did I finally get a job??

At Borders! Well, I'm an employee of Borders anyway, but I won't actually be in the store. That's one of two downsides. I'll be in the Calender kiosk in the mall. And it's only temporary, that would be the other downside. So I have a job until February anyway. But it's a job, and it could potentially lead to a permanent position in the store, which is what I am hoping for, and I figure I at least have my foot in the door, you know. But on the upside, I get a discount off books!

I'm not sure yet when my first day is. I filled out all the paperwork yesterday and my name is on the schedule, but no days were marked. I have to call the lovely lady today and see what she has planned :).

I've posted previously about my situation regarding working and you all have been so unbelievably awesome and encouraging. For some people to be social is like second nature to them, but for me, it's not so easy. I really have to work at it. So I think working and being around different people regularly will benefit and help that side of me.

So that's what's new with me :). And I'm still diggin country music! HA! Oh, but I did discover last night that Breaking Benjamin has a new CD out. I must get that! I just love that guy's voice. It does things inside me, you know that tingly feeling *wink*. MUST. HAVE. NEW. BREAKING BENJAMIN. CD!

So anything new with you?

I'm a Little Bit Country...

As I sit here on this chilly, sunny Sunday afternoon, I'm struck with the urge to share a little something with you. I've sort of taken to listening to country music again. I feel like I'm getting back in touch with my roots. I grew up listening to Conway Twitty, Merle Haggard, Dolly Parton, Charlie Pride, just to name a few. I always tend to fall out of love with it though. When I reached High School, I rediscovered my love of the genre with people such as the one and only George Strait, Tracy Lawrence, Tim Mcgraw, Mark Collie, Travis Tritt. When I was in 10th grade Conway Twitty passed away. I loved him, and I swore that one thing I would do before I died was see my all time favorite, George Strait, in concert. And I did :). About seven years ago! I wasn't listening to country by then, I kinda fell out of love with it, but when my husband told me George Strait was coming, well, I just had to go! He was awesome and I swear, he did that crooked smile he does while singing right at ME!! (Probably just wishful thinking, but I sure can dream!)

A few years ago, I turned on the country station and a Tim Mcgraw song filtered through the speakers, and I began to cry because the song is just so unbelievably sad. Have you heard it? Don't Take the Girl. Well, that stint of country listening didn't last long. I just wasn't in the mood, but I did discover some good guys.

A few weeks ago I turned on the country station again and this time it wasn't a sad song that played, but a very sexy song. ANd then the next song was another romantic sexy song, and later that day, yet another romantic song. And I thought, these songs are like my romance books! I fell in love all over again :).

The reason for this post was so I could share with you some of these most amazing songs! I wonder what makes me lose the urge to listen to this genre. I just love it and it reminds me of Kansas and when I was younger.

Anyhow, if you care to listen, here are a few songs that I just love, love, love. And the last one is the one that never fails to bring a tear.

This here is the first one I heard the other day. Kinda reminds me of those erotic romance novels I like to read :)!

These here remind me of those ones that create those lovely warm fuzzies!

And this one, I just love this one! Oh, I just love that deep voice and look at that eye peeking out from under the brim of that hat! Is that not sexy?? :)

And the one that never fails to bring a tear...

I know I haven't been around much, but I do so hope everything has been well with you all :).
