Calling All Anne Bishop Fans!

I've been out of touch lately, but I have to share this! If you live in the WNY area, the amazing Anne Bishop will be doing a reading/signing of her upcoming release of Shalador's Lady on March 6th at the Borders on Walden Ave. near Buffalo! I was super psyched yesterday when I checked to see what the hours were for the big Borders (since my store is closed now) for my new release book run with my mom. I happen to look to see what events were coming up and I saw this...

Anne Bishop

Shalador's Lady

Return to the world of the national bestselling Black Jewels novels in this sequel to The Shadow Queen.

March 06, 2010 2:00 PM

Cheektowaga - Borders
2015 Walden Ave.
Cheektowaga, NY 14225

For years the Shalador people suffered the cruelties of the corrupt Queens who ruled them, forbidding their traditions, punishing those who dared show defiance, and forcing many more into hiding. Now that their land has been cleansed of tainted Blood, the Rose-Jeweled Queen, Lady Cassidy, makes it her duty to restore it and prove her ability to rule. But even if Lady Cassidy succeeds, other dangers await.

I am so excited! It'll be the third time I've been to meet her, and, well, I can't wait! I don't know if there are any of you that live near enough, but if you do, stop by!

I did get three of the books I have been wanting. Dare to Surrender by Lilli Feisty, Moon Craving by Lucy Monroe, and I picked up another Jennifer Fallon book, Medalon. I read Ms. Fallon's The Immortal Prince and absolutely LOVED it! She is one amazingly gifted lady. It appeased my fantasy lovin heart! And even had a bit of romance tossed into the mix.

I hope all has been well with everyone :). Did you get any new books lately?

I am having a Anne Bishop challenge, have to read this whole series! But I like Anne Bishop's world, thanks for the heads up!

Amy C said...

Amanda :(, I do wish you could go too. Why can't the world just shrink up a bit?

Hey Leontine,
We can DEFINITELY work something out! I remember the first time I met her, I was so nervous! I had just got done reading Belladonna, so I had something fresh in my mind to talk about. I get tongue-tided so easily! It's the fan girl jitters!

Hey Cecile!
That's awesome that you've been treating your superwoman self to some good books! I have cut back considerably on my book buying but your right, us superwomen need a treat sometimes!

Hi Dana,
Anther Anne Bishop fan! I love it! That would be just awesome if you were here too.

Hey E.H.
Okay, just a little fan girl scream! They might kick me out if I let out what I was actually feeling inside :P. But I am generally calm and collected LOL.

Marissa! Are you hosting the Anne Bishop challenge? Can you give me the details? Even though I have read the books...a few times each...I would still like to participate, I think. I get the itch to revisit Daemon and Jeanelle. Lucivar and Saetan. And all the other amazing characters from the trilogy.

It makes me so happy that you are able to meet your favorite author again!!! :)

And this time around... I understand how exciting it is because I'm in on the Black Jewels love now, too!! Thanks to you, of course. :)

That's Great! I remember when we last talked, you were wondering about this signing. Hope you have a blast. I still have to read the last book, I'll have to get to that soon. :)

I didn't get any mail yesterday, scary I know. LOL! But I did receive Passion by Lisa Valdez on Monday.

Think an Anne Bishop reread might be in order for me too!

I'm a huge Anne Bishop fan and I'm so so envious of people living in the US!!! I bemoan my decision to settle in the UK!

Hey Amy!

Wow, you're so lucky! I wish she would come out west. I'd love to go to a signing of hers.

I've been buying ebooks lately, cause I just got my Nook. Jill Shalvis' Double Play and Shelly Laurenston's Pack Challenge are some of my recent books. On Sat, I'll be picking up Nalini Singh's Archangel's Kiss.

Hope you are doing well. ((Amy))

Sorry to see your Borders closed. Very sad news. :(

Hi Amy!
Ok, you see, I always kind of hint (more like shout out) what people should buy me for my bday.

This year one book I remember is Pagliasottis, you the steampunk expert, do you think I would like it?

Hi Amy!

I am not really hosting an Anne Bishop challenge, it was more like a personal challenge between Leontine and me, I heart historical romance, especially regency she does not, so I talked her into reading the Cynsters by Stephanie Lauren and she told me to read the Anne Bishop series because fantasy is not really my thing... but we could come up with something LOL.. I am way behind with my challenge as it is...

Torbear said...

Hey Amy! I'm new here, but I just had to say how jealous I am that you're going to be able to meet Anne Bishop... again! Omg.

I live in NY too, but I'm closer to Manhattan... =( She needs to have a book signing around here.

Hope all is well!

Amy C said...

I have been out of touch lately. It makes my heart warm to see the Anne Bishop love!

Hi Torbear,
Thanks so much for stopping by! I'm thrilled to see another Anne Bishop fan! She's just amazing.

I'm actually rereading the trilogy now. I can't help it. I'm in a reading slump, and the trilogy is just what I need :).

Tori said...

Yeah she definitely is! I hope you make an entry about meeting her, I will be squealing like a little fangirl!

And I've been tempted to reread BJT again, but I've bought so many new books recently that I feel bad putting those off :(

Amy C said...

Hi Tori,
I hear you about having so many books to read. I'm a little overwhelmed with what I have. You should reread them! You'll love it just as much the second time around as you did the first, if not more. I remember being a bit confused with the jewels and webs and how they travel the first time around. But the second and third and now this time, not confused at all, so it makes for a richer read since your not trying to understand and keep all the characters straight, you know? It's just amazing. I can't get enough of the characters!

Tracy said...

OH I'm so jealous! I've got this one for review but I still need to read the one before it. I'm so behind! lol

Tori said...

You're right. Reading BJT the first time around was slightly difficult because I found myself continually flipping back and forth in an attempt to grasp the webs and jewels. The second time I read her BJT books I definitely appreciated the characters a lot more.

I'll probably re-read the series soon just so I can start writing my reviews on the books

I gotta admit... Lucivar's the best in my books haha! ;)

Amy C said...

Hey Tracy!
I really enjoyed The Shadow Queen. I wish it focused more on the new characters, but it was still a great read and I'm psyched about Shalador's Lady.

Amy C said...

Tori! Isn't Lucivar just awesome?? I'm about halfway into Queen (I know, I've been slow reading this month) and Lucivar is just awesome in this one. I can't wait to finish it because i am going to reread Dreams Made Flesh next. I actually have not reread that one yet, and I want more of Lucivar. I love the scene with marian and Surreal, when Marian is telling her about her throwing the pan at him so he took the pan outside and began throwing it, then came back in to get the frying pan and said that that one was better to use! Makes me laugh. Good stuff!

How fun! Shame I live too far away, but you can get me an autograph, hey? LOL

Thank you for my card - I loved it! :)

Happy reading to you too!
