Sucker Punch - March 25, 2011 (And a few others)

In this mind-warping action thriller, Baby Doll (Emily Browning), a girl slated for lobotomy in a 1950s-era asylum, leads a group of young female inmates in an attempt to escape both their mental fantasy worlds and the actual institution where they are prisoners. To accomplish her plan, Baby Doll must steal five objects -- but is the man who's trying to stop her real, or a figment of her imagination?

I saw previews for this movie when we went and seen The Rite a few weeks ago, and it looks totally awesome! I can't wait to see it!

Anyone else looking forward to this one?

And while looking up Sucker Punch, I discovered Red Riding Hood. I think I already knew about this one though. It seems familiar, just something I forgot about. But it looks so good too! It comes out in March also. Looks like I'll be making some trips to the theater!

.

And then Dottie mentioned this movie, Beastly. I hadn't heard of it, but did some looking and I do believe I want to see this one too! A remake of the Beauty and the Beast. Not sure though if it's a theater movie or a TV movie. Do you know, Dottie?

You've put up pretty much my entire movie watch list for March! LOL! My friends are SO excited about Sucker Punch, and while I wanna see Red Riding Hood I'm a little worried that since it's been directed by the same woman who did Twilight it might suffer. Who knows I guess I'll just have to see!

Here's hoping we both have some good movies in our future!

PS - Oh and if you haven't seen I am Number Four yet, don't. It's pretty horrible and even some decent action in the last 10min couldn't save it. I'd say since they both feature the main actor from Beastly just stick with that one :)

Hey Dana,

That's awesome you're looking forward to Sucker Punch too! I did see previews for I am Number Four when we saw the previews for Sucker Punch. I forgot about that one. It looked cool but not something I'd watch at the theater. I might look into it when it comes out on DVD, but if you said it wasn't so good, I might pass.

I did wonder when I saw that Red Riding Hood was directed by the same as Twilight. I'm not a fan of those movies, but I think it's more the actors than anything else. I don't care for the girl who plays Bella. I'll still watch it though. Maybe go with my mom to see that one at the theater. Or not :). I just really would like to see Sucker Punch on a big screen. Lots of fantasy action!

I want to see both Beastly (read the book and loved it) and Red Riding Hood. Sometime next week I'm gonna go see I Am Number Four.

Sucker Punch does look pretty cool. :)

Hey Anna,

You'll have to let me know your thoughts on I am Number Four :). And I got my magazine in the mail for visiting the Mall of America! Me and Devin are so going to do that next summer, take a three day weekend or something. It'll be fun :).

Hi Ames,

I usually go see what my 11 year old wants to see, but this time I'm gonna go see what I want to see. I think he'll like Sucker Punch though. It's been awhile since we seen a movie that I really enjoyed. I think the last one was 2012, and that was awhile ago!

Hi Amy!

Yep, Anna's right, is a YA paranormal romance by Alex Finn, and I haven't read the book yet... I want to, but I'm afraid it will ruin by viewing of the movie, and I soooo want to see it! I don't want to be disappoint when the director takes liberties with the book....always taints how I see what's presented on the big screen. I'm going to read it though...

I saw a preview of Red Riding Hood, and may I saw it looked totally wowed!! I'm looking forward to that one too!

And Sucker Punch is already on my list, how can I not want to watch? It has a kick-ass heroine!! It sounds so good!

I Am Number Four is on my list too, I've heard so many mixed reviews... Alyssa from Teens Read and Write said it was awesome, others say... not so much, it's another YA read, which I'm waiting to read cause I don't want to ruin the viewing of the movie....

I think I have way to much on my plate....

(((hugs Amy)))

(hope you and Devin have a blast at the Mall of America...Kevin went a few years ago while on a business trip... said it was awesome...well he probably didn't use the word awesome....lol!!)

Hey Dottie,

It's been a while that this many movies have caught my eye to want to watch and at the theater also. Hopefully they are as good as they look.

I had sort of a loose New Years resolution this year: reading more romance books, less watching screens. Soon after I saw the preview for Suckerpunch. Darn. Not only does it seem like a really cool story, I love what they're doing visually.
